Bombardier Honours 25 Top Operators and Suppliers for Exceptional Performance

  • 19 airlines recognized for world-class operations performance, six of the 19 airlines honoured for five consecutive years
  • Six suppliers recognized for outstanding performance in support of Bombardier customers

Bombardier paid tribute to the industry-leading performance of 25 of its top aircraft operators and suppliers with the presentation of the 2012 Airline Reliability Performance Awards and In-Service Supplier Top Achievement Recognition (STAR) Awards at a ceremony on April 30 in Orlando, Florida.

“Especially in light of the current business environment, our winners’ accomplishments are truly impressive,” said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services and Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “It is very rewarding for the Bombardier Customer Services team to be part of this global community of airlines, partners and suppliers.”

The awards ceremony was held prior to the launch of Bombardier’s inaugural All Series Operators Conference and Trade Show, which brings together more than 800 Q-Series, CRJ Series andCSeries aircraft customers, suppliers and participants for the first time to attend workshops, technical sessions and an impressive trade show.

Both the Airline Reliability Performance and the In-Service STAR Awards are highly respected in the industry and regarded as a mark of distinction by the recipients, their employees and customers alike.

Nineteen CRJ Series and Q-Series aircraft operators were presented with the Airline Reliability Performance Award for outstanding dispatch reliability in 2011. To win, each airline must have attained an average dispatch reliability rate of 99 per cent or better on revenue passenger flights in 2011, in addition to the highest dispatch reliability performance in their respective product class and region. Six airlines, Air Nelson, ANA Wings, PSA Airlines, Porter Airlines, Uni Airways, and Widerøe Flyveselskap have won the award every year since its inception five years ago (the winners are listed in Appendix A).

Six suppliers were honoured with the In-Service STAR Award for superior in-service support to Bombardier customers, introduced three years ago. To be considered for this award, a supplier must have scored at least 85 per cent in areas deemed most important by Bombardier’s customers, such as product performance, airline support and customer focus. The “Most Improved” category recognizes the commitment suppliers demonstrate in improving overall customer support (the winners are listed in Appendix A).
